Lion Cub – Kindergartenlionprogrampatch

During Fall 2017, Pack 303 is planning to pilot a Lion Cub program…

  • The Lion Cub program has exciting indoor and outdoor activities specifically designed for kindergarten age boys and their adult partner!
  • Adult partners (guardians) are there to support and guide, allowing the new Cub Scout to discover risks and rewards under the security of adult supervision.
  • Lion Cubs learn by doing. As he learns and grows, the relationship with their adult partner (guardian) grows as well.
  • At the conclusion of their kindergarten year, the Lion Cub will transition to Tiger Scouts where he’ll earn the Bobcat badge and continue on to even more exciting and educational adventures through Cub Scouting!
  • Lion Badges will also be awarded.  The pilot format badge is a diamond shape and can be hung from the left pocket button of the blue shirt, which should be purchased as part of the Tiger rank uniform.  To hang the badge, please also purchase a plastic badge hanger from the Scout Shop when obtaining the blue shirt.
  • Starting in the fall of 2018, a new format for Lion rank badge should be available which is a rectangle that can be placed permanently below where the Tiger badge will be placed (when that is earned).
  • You should be able to obtain the new format Lion badge from the Scout Shop (starting fall 2018), just inform them you have already earned Lion and would like the new format.

Lion Cub requirements are not yet available online, but here is a link that may have some useful information…

New “permanent” format for Lion badge.  Rectangle format.  Available Fall 2018.
