Chanhassen, Bluff Creek, and La Academia Elementary Schools

Cub Scouts is a program dedicated to the development of youth in K-5 through activities with their families and peers. The aim of Pack 303 is to provide scouts with opportunities and adventures focused on character development, good citizenship, respectful relationships, personal achievement, and spiritual growth.

Cub Scouts work with their dens and their families to advance through the ranks of Lion, Tiger, Bear, Wolf and Webelos.

Chanhassen Pack 303 serves the families of Chanhassen Elementary, Bluff Creek Elementary, and La Academia Elementary. We will have Pack leaders at each school to answer any questions and help with sign-up. The cost of Cub Scouts is $44 (There is an option to receive Boy’s Life magazines for another $16).

Pack 303 will have our annual Family Pack Planning Meeting at 7pm at Chanhassen Elementary School to cover over the upcoming year’s events and opportunities for volunteering. Scouts can also meet members of their den for activities in the gym.

If you are unable to attend, you can register your child at joincubs.org or adventureiscalling.org

Fall Field Trip – Lake Minnetonka Fall Cruise | Sunday, September 29th, 2019 | 1:00pm

Steamboat MinnehahaFall Field Trip – Lake Minnetonka Fall Cruise | Sunday, September 29th, 2019 | 12:15 pm – 2:00pm
Join us for a trip to the past. Pack 303 will take a lake cruise and explore the history of the steamboat Minnehaha. The Minnehaha is a large wooden boat that uses a unique steam engine for power. We will meet at the museum to learn about the Minnehaha’s use, scuttling, raising, and restoration. We will need to be at the dock 15 minutes prior to launch to board and get situated. The cruise is one hour and will explore Lake Minnetonka and the beautiful fall colors.
The cruise is $15 for Adults, and $5 for children ages 4-12. Scouts will be covered by the Pack. Space is limited on the boat and we need to reserve our seats. Please email or text George Reisdorf with the number of family members attending. If we exceed the number of spots, we can always book some seats on the 2:20pm cruise. Please RSVP as soon as possible.
There is no specific parking for the Excelsior dock, but there is plenty of parking within a two block area.
Scouts should wear their uniforms and neckerchiefs.

Popcorn Fundraiser

Popcorn Bags

Scouts and Families,

It is time to kick-off our annual popcorn sale. This fundraiser is our primary fundraising activity for our scouts each year and pays for the vast majority of our activities. Not only is this the best way to support our pack, it is also a great way to earn some cool prizes.

Each scout will need to have a Trails End account. The Trails End app will be used for all sales, inventory and sign ups.

Key Info

●  Sales start on Friday 9/20 at 5pm

●  You can check out Popcorn / turn in orders on the following dates and times at the pickup location

  • Friday 9/27 5-7pm
  • Friday 10/4 5-7pm
  • Friday 10/11 5-7pm
  • Wednesday 10/16 5-7pm
  • Thursday 10/24 5-7pm – Check unsold popcorn back in and turn in and pick up orders to avoid the Halloween party rush.
  • Final Orders are due at the 10/25 Pack Meeting / Halloween party
  • Delivery of ‘Take Order’* Popcorn by mid-November. Notice will be sent when popcorn is ready.
    • Take Order means you took the customer’s order and will deliver at a later date

Our goal is for each scout to sell $300 worth of popcorn product. ($150 for Lions)Our pack keeps 35% of the revenue and this $$ is used to fund the pack activities(badges, blue and gold, pinewood derby, Spring campout, den supplies, etc.)

  • If a scout does not sell $300/150 of popcorn, a check for $100/75 or pro-rated amount can be provided instead.

There are a couple ways to sell popcorn

1) Show and Sell

Sign up to sell at the American Legion and other locations. Scouts will receive a share (based on volume sold/total hours) of all sales made across show and sell dates towards their goal of $300. We will have 2 scouts per slot, we require an adult stay with their scout to help them develop their popcorn selling pitch and money skills. Scouts must wear their uniform, no siblings, no athletic clothing and no electronics.

SIGN UPS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE TRAILS END APP

  • There are no credit card fees associated with the app.  It may say there is a 2.4% fee, ignore that its incorrect.

2) Sell to Friends and Family

Many scouts have success going door to door in their neighborhood, selling to family and neighbors. Scouts should wear their scout uniform and be accompanied by a guardian when selling.

Key Info

Please use the Trails End app to enter all the product that was sold. One may still use the hard copy             that was provided at the all Pack meeting on the 19th, that information will still need to be entered                into the app.

3) Online Sales

Once the scout is registered and using the app, a unique link is created just for that scout. Which may be emailed and or shared on social media to sell online, this is great for selling to out of town friends and family. Additionally, the pack receives 40% of revenue vs 35% for other sales. There are no shipping fees when product is ordered online.

Here is how to get started, if you already haven’t

2. At the end Select Council as Northstar, Select Lake Minnetonka as District and Select Pack 3303
