Year End Celebration & Family Campout!

Cub Scout Rank Awards 7-8pm Friday  |  Campfire & Games Friday Night  |  Geocaching 9-11am Saturday

  • Tiger, Wolf and Bear rank badges will be awarded (have a camera ready!).
  • Join us at 7pm for the awards.
  • Starting around 8pm we’ll have a group game, s’mores and campfire fun. After, you can stay and tent camp with your family or head on home. We will have breakfast and a geocaching treasure hunt starting at 9am Saturday morning.  We should be all done by 11am on Saturday.
  • Wear your uniform and bring a Scout t-shirt to change into after awards are done. Bring a water bottle, flashlight, good closed-toe outdoor shoes and a jacket.
  • Camping? Bring a tent for you and your family, sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas and a tooth brush. The Pack will provide an evening snack and breakfast. Note that Scouts can tent together and Scouts can tent with their own family but Scouts can not tent with an adult who is not a family member.
  • Not camping, feel free to join the group in the morning again for breakfast (around 8am) and/or geocaching (9am-11am).
  • Geocaching participants please complete Carver Parks waiver form>  Activity Waiver   (we should also have some hard copies available at the event).
  • We will be at Lake Minnewashta Park Picnic Area #3 (same as last year).
  • Site map at Lake Minnewashta Park Map
  • Lake Minnewashta Park is located off of TH 41 west of Chanhassen between TH 5 and TH 7.
  • Go to Picnic Area #3. After entering the park, go left and follow the road around until you see Picnic Area #3 on your right.
  • Amenities at Picnic Area #3 include pit toilets, drinking fountain and a shelter.  There are also flush toilets at nearby picnic areas (#1 at the beach & #5 next to the playground).
  • PARKING:   We are planning to have a number of parking passes at the picnic shelter for anyone who does not have a Carver Parks sticker.  So you should not need to pay for parking at the gate (which will probably be unattended).
  • All Cub Scouts and Adult Leaders should attend.

4th of July Parade 2017! | Tuesday, July 4th

Who: Pack 303 Cub Scouts

What: March in the Chanhassen 4th of July Parade

When: Tuesday, July 4th, 2017   |   2:00 – 3:30pm (meet at 1:45pm, parade starts at 2:30)

Where: Downtown Chanhassen (see below)

Why: Fun participation in 4th of July, Recruit potential Cub Scouts for fall

Bring/Wear: Class A Uniform with Neckerchief and Shorts (it’ll be hot!), Water Bottle (with water!), and sunscreen

Cub Scout Packs 303, 330 (St Huberts), 337 (Bluff Creek) and Boy Scout Troop 330 will be walking in the 4th of July Parade along with the American Legion at the front of the Parade. We’ll meet between 1:45 and 2:00 pm near the Chapel Hill Academy parking lot, and then walk the parade route. The parade begins at 2:30 pm.

Please plan to pick up your scout around 3:30pm near the intersection of Chan View St & Huron Av, close to the Heritage Park apartments.

There should be room for some Scouts to ride on the pickup truck or trailer. This is especially helpful for the younger Scouts who may not want to walk the whole distance. The Scouts will be carrying banners, flags and passing out freeze pops. We will have water coolers for the Scouts on the back of the trailer.

The parade route is about 2.25 miles total, through downtown Chanhassen. The parade will begin on West 78th Steet near Chapel Hill Academy and travel along West 78th Street, to Kerber Boulevard, to Santa Vera/Saratoga Drive, to Laredo Drive, and finally to Chan View. Many spectators seem to gather along W 78th Street and Kerber Blvd, but it can get quite hot and sunny on those streets not to mention crowded.  There are usually some shadier and less crowded spots along Santa Vera/Saratoga Dr,  Laredo Drive and Chan View Street which also get you a bit closer to the final pick up location.
